Handsome mal seeks single lady!
Lanigan is a tall shy 5 yr old Mal mix that has found a wonderful foster home and is getting much needed rehabilitation. He has several lady friends in the neighborhood that he walks with and enjoys visiting their homes. On occasion he allows their husbands to give him a cookie. This poor guy wound up as a stray and got his head stuck in a plastic container. He was dehydrated hungry and scared when he was finally captured by animal control.

FOSTER HOME UPDATE:Lanigan is a great indoor as well as outdoor dog and he likes to sleep inside on a nice soft bed or thick doggie bed. He is house trained and can live with cats even though he is curious about them. If he gets bored he will chase the cats. When his foster mom leaves the house he watches her drive away and usually is waiting in the same window when she returns. He likes to play with both male and female dogs of medium and larger size gets along well with smaller dogs and often acts as protector to them. He prefers women over men and is very selective about the men he hangs out with. He can be contained successfully in a wooden or vinyl 6ft fence that has no toe holds or jumping points. He is treat motivated and is trainable. He knows sit paw down and can ignore deer and other wildlife when directed and rewarded with cookies or turkey dogs. He can catch a tennis ball when he feels like it and loves to go for a hike and cool off in the lake.

The adoption fee of $300 includes spay-neuter and all vaccines.

Lanigan is being lovingly fostered in Washington.

He is house trained rides well in a SUV/truck (he needs some headroom) and he is a great walking and hiking companion. In terms of grooming he likes to look his best and enjoys a good brushing. He loves meeting new adult humans and will do the Malamute lean so he can get his back and ears scratched while resting against you. He is also known to land a sloppy kiss or two on your face. In the past he has claimed to enjoy chasing cats and chickens so we recommend no small animals around him. Tucker has been friendly with other dogs he meets on a leash but can be picky about other northern breed dogs. He may be OK with a big female dog or others with a careful introduction. LIVIA
Age: Young Adult
Weight: 82 Lbs
Gender: Female
Color: Gray/White
ID: W15-0212-AF2

SPONSORED!

Livia has been sponsored by Cheryl and Bill Papesh! Thank you!

Livia is house trained knows her basic commands of sit stay and down and walks very nicely on leash. Her current foster owner is impressed with her manners and says she is very easy to be around. She is the perfect house-dog. Livia is also a people-lover. No famous malamute aloofness here!Livia spent most of her former life with little attention in a small kennel and now that she has experienced the love and kindness of people she is unhappy without it. Therefore Livia would be best in a home with a couple or single person who has older (12 and up) or grown children and where someone stays or works at home most days.

Livia would not be a candidate for a home with other animals and she is not particularly enamored of strange dogs. She would be best in a rural home or one without a bunch of neighborhood dogs to bother her.She is fine with being on the other side of a fence from them as long as they ignore her. But she can be very reactive/aggressive toward dogs who show aggression toward her. So please be prepared and able to avoid most dog to dog interactions.

If you are looking for the perfect house companion and have a securely fenced yard and love malamute attention lavished on you whenever you are home Livia is your special girl.

Livia is being lovingly fostered by one of our wonderful volunteers.

If you are interested in meeting Livia or any of the beautiful Malamutes shown here please do not delay in filling out our online application. We will schedule your home visit asap.

JUSTICE
Age: Senior
Weight: 85 Lbs
Gender: Female
Color: Black/White
ID: O43-0715-AF13

COURTESY LISTING

Justice has a very sad story and we would like to make sure the rest of her years are filled with love. For 11 years she had been a faithful companion and friend. She always went with dad and she knew she was loved. Her world fell apart when he passed away. She was given to a family member who kept her outside on a chain. Then the ultimate betrayal they moved and left her. When we picked her up she was dirty and matted. She had dug a 6 ft hole under a trailer for shelter. There was nothing our vet could do but to shave her. Her skin was covered with sores and she had an large mass above her knee. It was removed and luckily it was benign. She spent her recovery time at the vet and then finally got to join her ANH friends.

So now begins a happy ending. She is running playing and enjoying her new home but she needs a family. Her fur is growing back and we can hardly wait to see the beautiful girl we knew she once was. Justice is potty trained spayed up on all her shots and micro chipped. She would be happiest being the only dog. She would love to have a fenced yard to play in and a couch to cuddle on. She is 13 yrs old and is in good health now. We are hoping for another 3 years. Never a guarantee how long we have with the ones we love. Please consider loving this sweet girl. She so deserves a second chance!

If you would like to learn more about Justice please call Lorrie (208) 339-0130 or email kjfam at dcdi.net for an application.

If you are interested in Freya please fill out an online application and we will schedule your home visit ASAP.

Freya is a wonderful girl with a bit of wanderlust. Her former home was unable to keep her in the yard and she found herself labeled a nuisance in King County. She was eventually released to rescue as long as she stays out of King County. Freya is good with other dogs she chooses to get to know. She can be female-malamute-typical-picky about her friends but is currently being fostered successfully with another dog of her size. Freya has been very friendly to all people. She is a little too interested in cats to be considered a good candidate for a home with kitties though she may be trainable. She is house-trained and very good in the house. She needs a home outside of King County with a very secure fence AND an escape proof kennel run or some other such place for when she cannot be observed. She would be an excellent addition for a work-at-home situation.

Volunteers are working with Freya and we will have more information soon!
